Our Approach
- We believe that all children should be treated equally and respected with regard to their race, culture, gender, religion, socio-economic background, or additional needs. Thus children should be educated about and encouraged to respect these differences among their peers and the wider community.
- We believe that all areas of individual should be nurtured including the physical, emotional, intellectual and cultural self.
- We believe that realistic goals should be set for the children, recognising individual differences and respecting developmental levels of each individual.
- We believe that our program is developmentally appropriate reflecting these needs. Families are provided with the opportunity to be actively involved in their child’s learning as well as the centre program and policy decision.
- We believe that trust and respect are an integral part of our daily routine. This is encouraged by enhancing the children’s self esteem at every available opportunity.
- We believe that children need to feel secure. This is established by maintaining consistent boundaries and routines, safe and aesthetically pleasing environments.
- We believe that staff and families should be consulted regularly about their suggestions, and concerns through parent meetings, surveys and informal conversations.
- We believe that children need to learn tolerance. This is demonstrated in all relationships that encircle the children eg. Relationships between staff, staff/children, staff/parents, children/children, children/parents.
- We believe that our "Open Door Policy" is a vital and intrinsic element of our centre policy.
